EuroCC@Greece announces the 5th Course of its HPC Training Series with the subject “Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using OpenFOAM on High Performance Computing (HPC)”, taking place online on June 14th, 2024.

Date: June 14th, 2024, at 09:30 EET

Location: Online via Zoom

Presentation Language: Greek

Audience Suitable for students, researchers, and engineers working in the field of CFD, who are interested in working in an HPC environment.

This course includes an introduction to High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using OpenFOAM, with demonstration of the SLURM job submission system. The session begins with setting up and troubleshooting a virtual HPC environment, which attendees will install on their own machines to simulate an HPC experience. The schedule covers fundamental concepts of CFD, such as fluid dynamics and turbulence modeling, and introduces OpenFOAM’s features and history.

Attendees will have hands-on opportunities to manage and submit CFD jobs in a simulated HPC environment. The course concludes with a demonstration of the ARIS supercomputer.

Prerequisites: find here the instructions for installing the virtual environment.
