Title: Making Learning Materials FAIR: An Introductory Guide to the FAIR-by-Design Methodology

This 90-minute session introduces the FAIR-by-Design methodology developed within the Skills4EOSC project. Its main goal is to support instructional designers, i.e. professionals who structure, develop, and curate educational materials to support effective learning, to ensure that the developed learning resources are not only of high-quality but also shareable, reusable, and accessible across different platforms and communities.

This training will explain the core concepts of the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles as applied to learning materials and guide participants in understanding how to integrate these principles during the instructional design process by implementing the different stages of the FAIR-by-Design methodology. Through clear best practices, this training demystifies FAIR compliance and focuses on actionable steps to enhance the visibility and impact of your learning content.

Trainer’s info: Sonja Filiposka is the FAIR-by-Design Methodology Task Leader in the Skills4EOSC project, where she leads the development of strategies and guidelines for embedding FAIR principles directly into the creation of learning materials.

A professor and researcher with a background in open science, digital infrastructure, and instructional design, Sonja focuses on helping educators and support professionals produce resources that are both educationally robust and technically sustainable.
