DESCRIPTION:\n\nEuroCC@Greece announces the 23rd Course of HPC Training
Series with the subject "Using C# in HPC applications". \n\nDate: Octobe
 r 29th\, 2026\, at 11:00 EET \n\nLocation: Online via Zoom  \n\nPresen
tation Language: Greek\n\nAudience: This course is ideal for HPC Engineer
 s and Academic Researchers. \n\nCourse Description:\n\nThis webinar will i
ntroduce tools to parallelize applications in the Object Oriented language
C#. The webinar will comprise two parts\, part 1 and 2. Part 1 will focus
on CPU parallelism in C# with MPI & TPL\; it will cover the installation
of necessary software\, a brief introduction into C#\, and the serial code
to be parallelized. Part 2 will focus on GPU parallelism in C#\; it will
introduce tools to write General Purpose GPU programs in the C# language\,
the implementation of setup of simple kernels and memory management\, and
examples that showcase more advanced topics\, such as thread synchronizat
 ion / thread groups\, and reductions.\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\nBy the en
d of the seminar\, participants will be able to:\n\n\n	\n	Use Task Paralle
l Library (TPL) to parallelize C# code for multicore CPUs.\n	\n	\n	Use MPI
to parallelize C# code for networked computers.\n	\n	\n	Understand the di
fference between shared and distributed memory systems and when to use eac
 h.  \n	\n	\n	Understand basic threading and memory management of GPU com
 puting.\n	\n	\n	Use ILGPU to parallelize C# code.\n	\n\n\nPrerequisites: B
asic programming knowledge in C#\, Java\, C or C++.\n\nInstructors’ Shor
t Bios:\n\n\n	\n	Dr. Serafeim Bakalakos is a researcher at the Institute o
f Structural Analysis and Antiseismic Research (ISAAR) of the National Tec
hnical University of Athens. He graduated from the School of Civil Enginee
ring (NTUA) in 2015 and completed his MSc in Analysis and Design of Struct
ures (NTUA) in 2017. In 2022 he was awarded his Ph.D. on HPC methods for t
he solution of crack propagation and material design problems using the ex
tended FE method (XFEM). Since then\, he has been conducting research in N
TUA and working as adjunct professor at the School of Civil Engineering of
University of Thessaly.\n	\n	\n	Dr. Dimitris Theodoropoulos is an affilia
ted senior researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computation Sy
stems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens\, Greece and t
he Microprocessor and Hardware Laboratory (MHL) at the Technical Universit
y of Crete\, Greece. In 2003 and 2005 he obtained his Diploma (5-year degr
ee) and M.Sc degree respectively from the Electronic and Computer Engineer
ing department at the Technical University of Crete\, Greece. In 2007\, he
joined the Computer Engineering department of the Delft University of Tec
hnology\, the Netherlands\, and in 2011 he was awarded his Ph.D. Between 2
011-2019\, he collaborated with the Telecommunication Systems Research Ins
titute at the Technical University of Crete\, Greece\, and the Computer Ar
chitecture and VLSI Systems group at the Foundation for Research and Techn
 ology – Hellas (FORTH) in Crete\, Greece. \n	\n\n\n \n\nNote: Please en
