 se includes an introduction to the adjoint-assisted\, gradient-based optim
 ization workflow of the open-source CFD toolbox\, OpenFOAM\, with some dem
 o applications and continues with an introduction to gradient-free optimiz
 ation methods\, such as evolutionary algorithms\, with emphasis on metamod
 els and artificial intelligence for reducing the optimization turnaround t
 ime.\n\nA prior knowledge of the basics of OpenFOAM is beneficial for foll
